I have my antennas on my Patriot roof rack the coax I have fed through the rear passenger doors the door seals cater ok like this and then the coax i fed inside the roof lining and out through the existing coutosy light hole as the console has a seperate hole for the light, the power leads direct from the battery and up the B pillar again in the roof lining and out the light hole all are inside the din slot radio in and hook up I have a Atas 120a on the drivers side and a Sirio 2070R on the passanger side

Oops, Embarassed i forgot to ask another thing 110 John. did you have an additional battery installed or the ft-897d is sharing the same battery the vehicle is relying on? have you had any trouble with the battery or the alternator supplying sufficient juice to the ft-897d Question Question

Hi no I havent but I should as the 857d pulls 22 amp at 100w it dont take a rocket scientist to work that one out that a 90 amp battery wont last long so yes another battery would be better

I bought a gutter mount that lasted about 3 months and cracked in half, so using a few spares and some ali angle I made this, worked a treat and was removed when i sold the truck..

yep that's what i thought too. but have you had trouble in the past with your current setup? it appears you don't seem to have any trouble at all. Cool

No never had any trouble the atas is earthed via the roof rack ladder which is fastened to the chassis so gives a good ground to the atas and works fantastic
