Quite a common upgrade, when I had my series 3 all I had to do was remove the sealed beam headlights and fit halogen units in there place.

They are basically a plug and play upgrade. All you need to do is buy the '7" Halogen upgrade kit', which most parts suppliers sell, eBay, classic car specialists etc.
eg: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAND-ROVER-SERIE...3a74a672d3 And then remove the old sealed beam headlamps, and fit these in place of them and plug the connector straight on. You may want to have a look to see what condition the headlight retainers/bowls are like, as they may need replacing if they are badly corroded. I have my OE Defender ones after fitting the Wipac clear lens type (latter would look too modern). Would they do with H4s?
