White Contrast Roof?
Hi Mike,

Why is it I can't specifically order a white contrast roof on a Keswick Green XS Defender? I know there's a fair few people out there who would like the option as it's very traditional. Surely it can't be much more effort for Land Rover to do especially when the base models have a white roof and a white XS has a white roof as well? Many Thanks

they should do it as a option for the classic look and better in the sun

I think they should still do the double skinned safari roof as well

I thought Fuji white roof was an option on all colours?
What does Mike say?

Hello,

Unfortunately SS90 is correct, the roof on a 90 Hard Top XS is body colour only, so you can only have a white roof on a white car.

I am sorry for any disappointment caused.

Many Thanks

Mike

Mike,

not wanting to cause any bother here and yes a shame for SS90 but it is what it is.

my question would be an explanation of why this isn't an option - purely out of curiosity ?

Well, IMHO, that is a very strange decision on the part of JLR, because the white option looked very good on, and was therefore suitable for, many Defender colours.
I simply do not understand that decision.

Hello,

When designing/selecting specification of a vehicle we take a lot of different factors into consideration. These include (but not limited to), customer feedback and customer demand.

I will be feeding back everyone's views on this matter to the relevant department.

Many Thanks

Mike

Hello SS90

How things have changed... I paid a little extra in 1994 to get my then new 90 CSW 300tdi without a white roof Exclamation
all niagara grey looked good enough, but with no AC, when abroad or the sun was out here, did heat up inside, front vents, sun roof and rear windows open and encouraged to 'press on' was your only option.

But I agree with you, a white roof on most of the Defender colour options just looks right now and would give the AC on a 'mid to dark' XS slightly less work to do.

Buy a Keswick Green XS and get the roof professionally painted Exclamation
also one distinctive non-standard feature to identify it. SKIP
