Propshaft UJ phasing
Hi Mike@LR

Could you please find some technical information for me?

I'm trying to track down the source of vibration in my 2007 110SW. It is almost certainly from the prop-shafts, as the gearbox was recently removed from the vehicle to change the clutch, and I suspect that at least the rear prop-shaft was split in two and then reassembled (to make life easier for the mechanic taking the gearbox out).

Now, the workshop manual for the 2.4 defender states that both prop-shafts are "phased" i.e. the UJ's out of alignment, however doesn't give any idea as to how far out of alignment they should be. I would like to check that everything has been correctly reassembled by the authorised repairer that changed the clutch before I go and create a stink.......

Could you please find out how they should be phased for me?

Thanks

Jon
