Ah, yes, I see it now; I hadn't got beyond the summary table which doesn't refer to the transfer box at all! I've just found a note on page 73 which says:
CAUTION: The transfer case oil filler plug must not be used as a transfer case oil level plug. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the vehicle. So it's a measured 2.3 litres. Thank you! Phil. |

someone told me never to drain the transfer case, and it probably wont need changing, just checking and top up with necessary. Is that a myth? I have never heard of any oil that is better off dont changing...

^^myth. I change mine once per year. You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.
