Hi folks,
Is it a big job to replace a windscreen surround, I've heard it's bolted to the roof and held onto the bulkhead essentially with the big fake hinges? I have a 2001 Defender 110 CSW - TD5. My windscreen surround is corroded, it's alloy I think and it's furring up, I'm planning on buying new windscreen blocks (croytek ones). I need to replace the windscreen seal and the window seal, I just want to make a proper job and try and head off potential issues in the future. Cool, many thanks!!
Any idea how long to do? Not sure I will actually go ahead with this, I just know that once I pull the windscreen and remove all the seals I might find a bigger problem, so just wanna know how big a job it is Any idea how long to do the work? Cheers Andy |

If your new screen is painted and in the screen surround ready to refit, I would allow one day, it probqbly wont take that long, but I dont know your skill level.......I would waxoyl or similar the ledge at the top of the bulkhed that the screen frame rests on while you are in there, after fitting the self adhesive seal, otherwise it wont stick, its not really difficult, just quite involved, especially removing the trim, theres aslo trim up the insides of the surround and wiring for the interior light to consider.......
