Big Steve, with your feedback (and probably the size if your Simexes
  ) coupled together with the rest of the feedback that's definately decided it for me, if my wheels are straight and true the beads will be used. Thank you all....Roel, Mark and Big Steve.  If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Thanks Mark,
Will have to speak to Devon 4x4 as the chart I have reckons for the tyre size I need to fit 226g per tyre and yours 150g? If you go to the 'how to' in Devon's library it states for exactly the same tyre size I need 200g? If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Hi I have a set of 5 Mach lee split rims with 35x12.50x15 mud snow maxis crawler these were run with beads and I have to say be haved well on the road you just had a whooshing noise otherwise great
They are for sale to a good home |

Get 'em up in the for sale and wanted thread with some photos. There's some Mach 5 16" beadlockers on E bay for £399 each with tyres. Too much for me. I do know a fellow forum member binned his Mach 5 beadlockers as they wouldn't balance.....a long time ago though. Ive ran mach 5`s for over 10 yrs
been a pig to balance but always managed. I know when I put my BFG`s on they were crap spoke to our tyre Guru and he recons any tyre over about 33" wont be balanced from the factory as they have issues with the tyre making machines. My cunning plan this year will be to take the tyres off put the wheels on the balancer and weld small strips of plate to inside of wheel tht way it gives me at least a perfect wheel to start. hope all those with black wheels know you can get black stick on weights looks much neater than silver |

I ran my recent purchase on a balancer without the tyres and they are fine with only negligable errors that may sort themselves out with a tyre fitted.
The weights used now are predominantly Zinc based and after a few years irrespective of what they may be coated with start to rot and look awful. I know they have a function but I think the beads may be perhaps a decent compromise maintaining the balance of the wheel and not ruining the finish with the sticky backing and rotting out. My weights on the Mach 5s although still balanced have shifted on the rims and are no longer in a straight line either. Will give the beads a shot and report back after a couple of months running with them.
Sonic's issues with his Mach 5 beadlockers were because they were 5mm out of true. Thread link below. Jellyo misread your post I read 'split rims' (not actually sure what they are) for beadlockers (aren't split rims and beadlockers the same?) Difficult to see from your photos but nice looking truck. Notice you have used clip on weights. My weights fortunately are all on the inside and as stated are stickies not clip ons. Bored with black so picked most damaged wheel for paint and got it stripped, dipped and powdercoated RAL 5008. Pleased the way it turned out as there were some deep paint scores on the inner side of the rim. Just need to get the remainders in now.
WTF? The wheel looks nothing like the colour in the photo below and nothing like the internet swatches depicted either. Learnt my lesson before....get a sample done. 'Grey Blue' is the description and believe it or not it does lend itself well against stornoway grey.
