Whats going on? Most other manufactorers put larger engines in their vehicles! Defender keep on going smaller, what is this??? Is it going to end up with a 1.4 tdi VW Polo engine eventually??? Dont understand this?

Was gutless don't you mean? That was before Pete from BAS and Autologic performed their minor miracles of engineering reprogramming!

Thumbs Up

Yes they are better with a remap and intercooler but they are still hugely under powered Twisted Evil

Not sure if it may have been the 3" extra height or the larger wheels but a couple of weeks ago I drove Fekete's with the BAS remap.
Metaphorically speaking you can only polish a t*rd so much and I am not sure but with any more power than it had I think it would have become too 'brutal!'
Having driven both BAS and Autologic remapped vehicles I think they have got the power/torque balance about right...anymore I think the vehicle may lose it's appeal or the way I drive I'd end up writing it off.
I love my t*rd just how it was! (With the remap on!)

I like POWER Very Happy i would rather an engine have too much power rather than too little as it makes for a more relaxing motor to drive.Rather than thrashing it to within an inch of its life.
Looking forward to the Dresden Breslau as we`ve been given this Hilux for 2 weeks Very Happy 3.0L and Auto could be a lot of Defender bits for sale upon my return Rolling with laughter

Nice looking truck but unable to comment as no experience of Toyotas whatsoever. I like the heritage of the Land Rover but I suppose dependant on what you are doing practicality and comfort would take priority over heritage would it not? Think it may in my case as long as I could retain my Defender too! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!
