I'd say brake fluid level, they can be quite sensitive to fluid level when braking and on inclines so unless it comes on repeatedly ignore it,or disconnect the two wires on top of the reservoir to remove any doubt that it is the brake fluid level. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

wire on handbrake shorting out
even if fluid level ok ,check float in brake fluid bottle if its got fluid inside it making it not float right (sometimes you can see the fluid inside the float with a torch behind it ) |

Just to satisfy S.H.M.B.O. we went out and she checked the fluid and drew my attention to the marker line on the side of the container that said MAX and that the fluid was half an inch below it. Now she was stood and the passenger side and me on the drivers side which does not have such a line. It has now been filled up to the line by my assistant.
When I managed to get the top off I noticed that fluid drained out of the chamber attached to the top. Are we saying that this should not have fluid in it Don't make old people mad. We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |

There will be fluid in the chamber, inside the chamber there will be a float, its the float that should be empty.Pretty sure you can see the float rise as you lower the cap into the fluid. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

Right got the picture now. Just hope the topping up works as the next trip is the same route with a large caravan on the back. Don't make old people mad.

Unless the level is right up to or even a little above the max mark what you've described will happen.

That's what my assistant told me when she finished. Appears she rang the local independent we use. Don't make old people mad.

level has just dropped as you have found due to pad wear, descents can make the light come on as you describe. top it up, dont worry. Cheers
