After fitting the lighting, KBX bits and headlights we then wanted to add DRL's. At the time not many suppliers, aside from Twisted Performance, were reselling these, so out came the little brother's talents once more and he worked his magic on a stock bumper.
We used the same lighting manufacturer that Twisted used too so the light quality was great. We then did a fair amount of research and discovered that most UK Defenders come with a 'running light' feed that is required for the Swedish (I believe) market. This feed came directly off the stock wiring loom (drivers side) so made it a no brainer to tap into for the DRL light feed.  Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

As with most projects... things started to snowball and more and more parts were being collected but certain historical issues needed rectifying before new bits could be added.
Originally the Defender came with the stock Land Rover light guards and we were keen to address this design. But first we needed to learn the art of aluminium welding to remove the original (crooked) holes that Land Rover had drilled in the wings to mount their light guards. I must stress this is not for the faint hearted as it can go horribly wrong if your timing is out or technique poor but the results were extremely satisfactory for a first attempt. Next came the trial fitting of the new Defender Puma bonnet – I absolutely love this bonnet design as the bulge looks great both externally as well as from the driving seat. Once dry fitted, the vehicle was then broken down into various components and shipped off for a lovely spray job.

So half way through its stay at the paint shop I elected to pop down and see the progress. We also elected to repaint the KBX items too as it was marginally off, so it all looked like new.

Great job, well done. It looks like you've got a good eye for detail which is nice to see. I hope you don't mind me asking but roughly how much was the soundproofing alone, and how much did you need to do the job? I've done a similar job with a Noise Killer kit on my 90 H/T, which definitely helps, but I bet it's not in your league for sound deadening.
