Have a look out for a speedo binnacle from a Discovery 3 - I'm fairly confident that the plastic face is the same (although the clocks are different...) My blog - www.anacreinhampshire.blogspot.co.uk
110 TD5 BuildHERE - sold! 110 Tdci Build HERE - sold! Passat Alltrack - 4x4, auto, 45mpg, gloriously comfortable - but not a Defender! |

The cluster was also used in a Freelander.

I just replaced my instrument cluster faceplate from a KPH to MPH last night. Removing the needles were a little challenging. You have to twist/spin the needle/pointers to loosen them from the pivots. I was able to put it all back together and all is working well.

Spartan. Can you elaborate on this swap. I also need to change from km per hour to mile per hour. I bought a whole new instrument cluster but I couldn't get it programmed. Did you buy just the face or a whole cluster and just used the face?

I had a MPH complete cluster and removed the face from it. I used the MPH face on the KPH cluster. I did not use any tools because I was afraid to damage the pointers. I took the cluster apart to the board level then removed the face and did the swap. The pointers did not want to come off without first twisting them. Make sure you remember where you started before twisting the pointers. ( otherwise the accuracy of the gauge will be off). |
