in that case it's a very light hammering with plenty of paint protection. I'd still try and see if the dealer would do it under warranty though, worst they can say is no

I had same problem with mine, the spare (and now I have found out badly adjusted slam plate) caused it to rattle and wear and eventually they broke.
I copied an original parts hinge bush and found that it was smaller than the ones I had put in previously. My bulkhead is coming out soon so I gave it a few bangs and the plates do not respond well to having whack from a hammer as the plate uncurls or bends on the bulkhead first before it alters the angle of the curve. it made a hell of a mess and I can highly recommend you DON'T DO THIS. My solution was to make my own from nylon which has cured the problem though it is somewhat annoying that I had to take 2 attempts at it due to LR's inconstant bonnet bush sizes. Having had to change about 7 in the last 3 years If you have a pair of calipers handy have a measure of the old original and the new one and reference it with the side that doesn't rattle. that may give you an idea if it is the curl at fault or you have a shrunken bush. As a quick fix though, you can cut a slice of old plastic like a credit card and wedge it in underneath |

On my old 90 I cut some strips of inner tube , laid it in the curl then put the bonnet back on. That cured it.
