Fitting a bulkhead removal bar
I've started the preparation for the bulkhead removal bar as its arriving tomorrow, I've followed the recent article in LRO and got the majority of the bulkhead removed, hopefully the instructions that come with the kit tomorrow will make to clear but would appreciate some advice from someone who has done it already

The main two pieces of advice I need are
1) Where to cut the remainder of the bulkhead around the wheel arches, in LRO it says to cut by following the flange around the rivet line, if I do this it will leave a lip the width of the flange which does not look right as the LRO article looks flush - is it because its a TD5 and Ive got a puma?

2) Removing the last bit of bulkhead that is attached to the exterior body panel - any tips?

Think I've found the answer to my first question, found a blog detailing it and lip is clearly shown so the puma and td5 aren't different, link to the blog http://projectd90.blogspot.co.uk/2011/05/b...part3.html

Still any tips on removing the last bit being removed would be appreciated, hacksaw job I presume?

I've read you can fit it without removing the hardtop although it does make it more difficult - I guess I'll find out soon enough if its possible

You can fit the bulkhead removal bar without taking the sides and roof off however its not easy! After much sweating and swearing it can be done by removing the 2 bolts nearest the front seat belt holding the bottom of the side panel to the tub and the also the seat belt bracket, then if you open the door the side panel can be pushed out to reveal the tub capping - I drilled from underneath the capping and then just dropped the bolts through to minimise the time the panel was pushed out, its all gone back together ok and the panels aren't damaged or out of alignment.
