Hi all,
I didn't see this new Landrover show on the list so thought I'd post it up. This is the 1st show and is arranged by the guy who does the great Adventure Overland show in September at the same venue. Affordable entry and camping. It should be a good friendly show. I'm going and will be on stand B31 if anyone wants to say hi http://www.landylive.com/landylive/4580649326 |

Good luck with the conditions after the rain - look foward to the footage of all the new LR models stuck in the car parks.

Don't expect too much, I was there for 3 hours today, the only reason I was there that long was because I ended up talking to friends. It looks like it's the overlanders that have actually turned up, overpriced food, £4 for a burger!
Getting out the car park was a joke though I was taking the pee a little, nobody on the gate to say which way to go, tiny signs when you did see one and quite a long route out! It should be better now I pointed out the errors |

Just got back. I found it quite good although was interested in a awning and that seamed to be the people there so may be suited to why I went. Organisation was a joke, no rear stands set out it looked as if people were told set where you want. The main arena was pointless and the parking has been mentioned. There was three vehicles driving aimlessly around looking for the exit when we left!
Think the idea is there but afraid no cigar. A bit of management and it could be good. |

@ fullfat, unless you are already going or fairly close then personally I would give it a miss. There's probably around 30 to 35 traders there, main of which I would say are overland/expedition bias. 10 minutes and you will have perused the products on offer.
I do not want to put a totally negative slant on the event, it has real potential but it's the age old problem that organisers have to pay for the site, they then have to charge vendors, the vendors have to at least break even and without vendors we as feet through the gate are not going to be there. We can organise social events by ourselves at a fraction of the cost. |

In my opinion, Peterborough is now the best show, hands down. Last year Billing had a lot of autojumble and random tat, and for that reason we will not be going this year. Peterborough is well organised and has plenty going off to appeal to a wide variety of people.
We went to the Overland Adventure show a couple of years ago and said never again - pricy and incredibly badly organised so we never even considered this one. There may be a place for organised get-togethers of like minded souls but don't try to pass it off as a show. Regards Barbara |

I would agree with JWL unless you are going for a run its not worth it. I am only 40min away so gave me somthing to do so quite enjoyed myself. I also have to agree with Barbara about billing, Went last year for the first time and was more disappointed than this one mainly as I had made a effort to go. Considering Peterborough but doubt I will go as its two far if its like the others.
