Puma bad running
Goodday kind people,

As a fellow LR owner (though not a defender) I was presented with this problem :
My friends wife is currently in France with her Defender 90.
When she drives it, 1st gear is fine, but second and higher gear the engine won't rev properly.
We have no access to diagnostic equipment, as all garages are closed today.
Could any of you point me in the right direction ?

Thanks,
Joey

Blocked fuel filter - (I picked up a bad batch of diesel from Mont St Michel services a few weeks ago) - new filter seems to have cured it.

Bad connection on speedometer sensor on gearbox, given me problems in the past.

Good luck

Keith

id start with the filter too, causes all kinds of issues and an easy fix.

JUST BE CAREFUL TO FILL UP THE NEW FILTER WITH DIESEL! otherwise you'll have a pig of a time trying to get the air out of the system. And make sure its screwed on tight and the little drain cap is done up at the bottom or you'll have trouble too... Cheers, David
