Day out on the plains with a couple of friends exploring the newly opened byways - and there are some stunners especially if you like river crossings - we only managed to cross the same river in three different places

Installed Truck Lite LED headlamps on the 90. Took around 20 minutes to swap over using the existing H4 connections and I skipped the side-light option for now until I go back in the future and change over the other lighting to LEDs. That part is not plug and play though it does seem fairly easy to do; however, the wiring on my side lights doesn't have the quick disconnect connection and I'll add that in later + wire in the remaining bit then. And while I'm at it can also do a side by side comparison of the old vs new.
Old headlamps: New one installed: Click image to enlarge The difference observed just from driving around in daytime and night is noticeable. I am actually looking forward to long-distance night driving now. After finishing that the wife and I took a trip up into the Jura. Passed by a Unimog on the way up and a 110 on the way down. Yesterday: attended the agricultural show in Heathfield, East Sussex, and had huge fun romping around in the muddy fields whilst lesser cars (and LGVs ) slid all over the place.
Today: swapped the 130 for a Freelander2 HSE Yup, lots of whistling from the front end and a distinct lack of get-up-and-go meant that my 2.2 had succumbed to the oft-reported boost leak (caused by interference between the serpentine belt and the hose between the turbo and the intercooler). LRA were on the scene within the hour and a temporary fix meant that I was on my way from the dealership in an Enterprise Freelander, having dropped the 130 off, within two hours Not a huge fan of the Freelander but I couldn't fault the service. The fix apparently involves a reinforced hose and two brackets to keep it away from the belt and the fan cowl. I should have it back on Tuesday... |

Nice those Truck Lites, Ryan I have the Speakers, others here have the Noldens, they are all great LED lamps, but in my opinion these Truck Lites which you now have are the best looking replacement on a Defender, the most classic look of the three. You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

Me and my Girlfriend got very sick and tired of sheltering indoors from the rain so went on a nice long drive to nowhere in particular.
Every time I came to a road I didn't know where it went I went down it and was always surprised at where I came out. Saw some beautiful houses and some really deep puddles and some beautiful Kentish views and not once did I end up in a farm yard so bonus! |
