Todays POV, drop it at the shop at 9 AM and picked it up at 10pm
As seen on National Geographic. I have always been a fan of the Defender 90 Tomb Raider edition that was available in 2001-3 and wanted to replicate it on my 2013 model. So the roof rack was installed 4x Hella 4000 Spot/Driving lights. OEM bumper with Hella LED laminator compact and rear ladder. Just waiting for the Recaro Sportser CS seats and Steering Guard/Warn winch. Very happy with my post apocalyptic vehicle 2016 Defender 90 Adventure Edition |

Recovered the SVX from the dealer where it spent all day yesterday. The 1/3 (left side) second row seat when pushing the back rest back up blocks half way up. So the dealer already earlier tried to solve this by greasing the mechanism but that did not work, so yesterday they took the entire seat mechanism apart and tried to repair it. Did not work like that, so they called and said that a new mechanism alone for this seat would cost CHF1070 and this is not covered by the extended warranty. So that is a no go as when the back rest blocks, I can manually push down the loop at the back of the seat and then the backrest will move completely up and properly secure.
The dealer also checked out my drive line again after recently two new halfshafts were fitted under warranty. So, they spent 4 hours labor on the seats alone trying to repair the mechanism, but they will not invoice me anything at all as they say that since they were not able to really fully repair it, they cannot really make me pay for their work either. Cannot really fault these guys, good service as always. Eric You never actually own a Defender. ^^^^is this Land Rover extended warranty...?
If it doesn't cover items such as seats, what else doesn't it cover..? I'm always interested to understand what such insurance covers or not. Cheers Simon |

^^ Yes, here in Switzerland the LR extended warranty is provided by LR themselves and not by some 3rd party insurance company as believe is the case in the UK. The system works very well and covers almost everything with the exception of audio equipment, and things which are considered as consumables like clutches and also these seats mechanisms.
I used this extended warranty a few times in the last 2.5 years, first time a leak of the rear diff seal which happened on the way to Belgium, and actually was repaired under this warranty by a Belgium LR dealer, then just recently my dealer here found some play in the rear half shafts and the dealer invoice for installing two new half shafts (more than CHF2000) was swallowed by the extended warranty without discussion. Just to give you an idea, the premium for one year extended warranty for a Defender here is about CHF1250, but that also includes the cost of the annual service by the dealer, so I think it is quite good. We're all a little but eccentric, even if all of us don't like to admit it.
