Anyone tried masai rear window tinted set?
As above.

Looking to fit side windows to 90 hardtop. Seen "masai" rear side windows in tint.

Anyone used them / any good?

I replaced my csw sliding windows with a pair a couple of months ago because mine were leaking and rattling. I've got no complaints, they don't rattle or leak but I did have to file the corners of my 1/4 panel out for them to fit. If your putting them in a hardtop however this shouldn't matter.

Not the best pics of the windows fitted but it's the only one I have at the moment

I cut a pair of Masai windows into my hardtop, they are excellent quality and well made, and for the price you can't go wrong, the only negative I would say was the template that you get was alittle out, but it just took a little extra trimming

I have a defender CSW 110 ('05) and need to replace the sliding windows with a metal sheet over the whole side. But how do the windows actually come out. Have removed the interior fixing spacers, as as there are no rivets (like previous models, as newer models have no external rubbers),and there appears to be just a foam seal around the outside - thought that with just a little brute force they would now come out - NO.

Is there a mastic seal as well ? was hoping to remove them, measure to fit new panels, paint & install this w/e. Rolling Eyes

Hawky, I'm sure they're bonded in, I was struggling to have the side glass in my 110CSW tinted as a lot of the companies didn't want to have to remove the fames in case of damage. 2014 110 2.2TDCi XS Station wagon

Jomara, you don't need to have them taken out I didn't and the job was very good.

From another tinting thread..... Thumbs Up

Should be all you need to know! Thumbs Up

I've a 95% limo tint on mine! £185 with a five-year guarantee. Bear in mind that to do the sliders correctly the frames need to be drilled out! If you find someone with patience and perseverance it can be done without!

Just had a look at your thread K9F.
I tried all the recommended companies in Glasgow, most wouldn't touch it, one wanted me remove the rear windows and alpine lights for them!! The only one who agreed to take it on and do the complete job was Pentagon total cost of £240.
I'll need to ask Gary how they do it, need to admit I'm not 100% if they removed the glass, the other guys gave me war and peace on what they wouldn't do and how they wouldn't be responsible for damage or reinstallation, best of it was they wanted more than Pentagon!! 2014 110 2.2TDCi XS Station wagon

It is an arduos job removing the slider windows as they are bonded in. I eventually had mine removed when I had my Landyglass fitted. As the windows had potentially been sold to a fellow forum member I wanted them removed carefully and in one piece. They did have to work quite hard to achieve this.
For the sake of tinting I personally would insist for them NOT to be removed. A scratch or over-zealous 'dig' in the framework could result in corrosion in a few months/years time. Best not to potentially compromise the framework sealant in my view. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Sounds like a total pain!! I can only assume that it was done in situ as it was only away for the day. I was amazed when the first company I called told me that they wanted the full window out and it was up to me to sort it out!!! Window tinting
Jomara, try Advanced Window Tinting, 636 South st, Glasgow

Pentagon did my 110 SW back in 2009 (since sold), however I have used the guy in South Street for other vehicles and he is pretty good, he would probably do the tinting no problem, and his prices are good.

If you want windows tinting done properly you have to remove the sliders from the frame, which means the frames have to be removed.and if you have a puma not many companies can remove them without damaging the panels.
