Triming a Number Plate
Hi guys

Eventually i want to fit a winch bumper and winch but then there will be no where for the reg plate to go but i have seen a few defender's with the front reg plate fixed onto the n/s air vent but the reg plate is a little deeper than the vent flap is so i am just asking can i trim the reg plate to suit the flap without getting into trouble Smile Graham

I put the front reg plate on the vent flap one of my previous Defenders, as far as I recollect there needs to be a minimum of 11mm all around the outside of the letters/numbers to remain legal, so there should be room unless you have a particularly long number Thumbs Up

Nice one Thumbs Up I have just fitted the same, and was looking to attach the plate to my roof rack...but the metal plate holder is just a tad shorter than the standard reg....so I was also thinking of trimming..

will make sure I leave 11mm Very Happy

cheers,
g
