Hi Richard
Are you referring to the revs rising when you depress the clutch ? If so, this could be the problem with the fuse blown on the brake lights or both brake light bulbs blowing. I will see if I can find my original post on this. Edit. Here is my post from 2012. Thanks for the help, I think it was the bit from Bells Auto I was look for.
Yes it was the rise in revs between gears when clutch pedal depressed. Don't make old people mad. We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |

Well the plot thickens.
The Land Rover has been to my local independent who was certain he had the answer after doing his research. Clutch sensor working fine, fuse, and cable and brake light all OK. but it still does it. Don't make old people mad. We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |

Do the revs rise. Or does it hold its revs? If holding its revs between gear changes I thought this was normal for moden engines.

The Land Rover independent I use believes that it is not normal as they have never come across it before and it frightened the owner and mechanics when they drove it, the revs went up by 750 rpm. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |

This is a long shot but ....
Do you have towing electrics connected up ? As we know that problems with the brake light circuit does cause the problem it is possible that a fault in the towing electrics could cause it as well. If you do have towing electrics it should just be a case of pulling the plug in the rear offside wheel arch behind the plastic panel to eliminate that as the issue. It sounds like the indy has checked all the normal suspects.
