Diff Guard from Masai
I just ordered 2 diff guards from Masai for my MY 2009 Puma to find that only the front diff guard can be fitted. It seems the rear guard is too small. I've contacted Masai and have been told that they only do diff guards in one size and perhaps I have a non standard diff at the back which I know is not the case as it is still the original diff that I have on it. I now have an extra guard that does not fit and an unprotected diff Big Cry
Has anyone else faced a similar issue?

1. These diffs don't break easily, so don't worry!
2. There are 2 types of rear axles out there, you may have the other one.

Maybe take a picture of it, I'm sure someone can tell you what type it is.

3. You can always sell it on, or maybe they'll take it back.
4. There are other brands like QT, D44 etc which are top quality as well.

Pic of the diff might help identify it?

Do you have a 110? If so the 110 rear diff is larger than the one on the rear of a 90. Ask me how I know Rolling Eyes

90 has Rover pattern diffs front and rear.

110 and 130 have a Rover pattern diff at the front and a P38 diff at the rear.

Rover pattern and P38 diffs are completely different.

Yes I do have a 110. Would have expected Masai to tell me this as they knew I had a 110 as I also ordered the panramic glass and rear quarters along with the diff guards Sad

Sign of the times. People just do and don't think anymore.
If you have a car issue your dealer plugs it in and replaces everything the computer says that has a bad reading.
They fix the symptoms not the cause.
Know a guy who had 3 turbos replaced, in the end it was a hose that kept collapsing under to vacuum. Bill went up to 15000 euros. Needless to say it is a courtbattle now.

Yup, but I'd be interested to know where the casing style comes from? Because the later p38 style, unless I just need to go to specsavers looks bizarrely very similar to the front one, and yet holds twice as much oil... Shocked 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top
