Thanks Kitoper, not sure what is next. Im thinking about a set of security hinges for the bonnet. But may upgrade to a 110 DCPU Whistle

I once read that "one Land Rover was never enough" if I am ever lucky enough to be able to afford a second, it will be a 110 DCPU Smile

After a few days without my Defender I am happy to have her back. While she was away she received a Dinitrol Treatment and I have posted some pictures in my gallery https://www.defender2.net/gallery/index.php?cat=14071.

The treatment was done by Leu Carrosserie & Spitzwerk AG in Biel-Benken, Switzerland http://www.leu-ag.ch/ . Living in Switzerland you tend to expect quality, but I must say that my expectations were surpassed. The attention to detail and the cleanliness of the truck when picking it up was beyond anything I thought I would receive. I was given a complete tour of what was done, (every rivet, crook, cranny, chassis and joint was done). I was given a 6 year guarantee requiring 2 checkups within the 6 years and I was given instructions as to what to do over the next few days as I drive the vehicle and the dinitrol continues to dry.

I was accompanied by Eric to take my truck in for the treatment, in fact Eric graciously accepted to drive me back from the garage after dropping it off- (that is Defender Comoraderie). I will post a few pictures of our drive up to the garage as Defender driving in Switzerland on the pristine roads and mountainous scenery is worth sharing.

If you are a Defender owner in Switzerland, neighboring France or Germany, I can only say that the Garage Leu, who was recommended by the Dinitrol importer in Switzerland is the place to go.

A few pics, more in my gallery.

Update - So both our trucks, the Hunter and the SVX, are back at LEU Carrosserie & Spritzwerk AG in Biel-Benken which is near Basel since monday. Kitoper and I drove there monday morning from Geneva, a 3 hour drive, we left the trucks for a detailed spring cleaning and for a full Dinitrol check-up and reapplication as is required.
We will pick up the trucks late next week again as LEU is not doing half a job, they prefer to have the trucks for about 10 days to make sure all is properly dried out and so. The current temps here of 30°C should help. Cool
Then from Basel we will head to Germany where my SVX will get some reliability enhancements installed by another first class equipment supplier. I guess after LEU the SVX will stay in Germany for another week or so.
So I am three weeks SVX-less now, relying on our public transport and e-bike (and occasionally on the Mrs.' Beetle). Laughing
But by the time time of our official Swiss Defender farewell party on July 4th, both the Hunter and the SVX should be in tip top show condition. Thumbs Up
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

The day for Eric and I started off with a train ride to Basel to pick up our Defenders from Leu Carrosserie & Spitzwerke AG. The welcome at Leu was very warm as usual and our Defenders had been treated to our expectations with a chassis clean and prep for a refresher Dinitrol coating. Eric got the full treatment much like mine the first time round. I had my rear crossmember painted in addition to the dinitrol refresh. - a picture will be posted soon - but to put it in words - the painted crossmember looks like a factory job. This garage was confirmed by us as the bodywork and dinitrol garage of reference.

After saying goodbye to the team at Leu, we were happily behind our steering wheels and we were off to meet Olaf at Entreq- a beautiful drive, a picturesque bridge over the Rhein and into Germany. We arrived at Entreq where Olaf kindly skipped lunch to welcome us.

I learned more about my Defender from Olaf then I could ever imagine learning from many of the Official Land Rover garages I know. He has a Defender 110 in his workshop that is there as a reference vehicle, never licensed, just there to be used for reference and product development - amazing. Bow down

Eric left his defender with Olaf for a few additions and improvements. I know that I will be back, but today just ordered the Entreq light surrounds on this trip.

Looking forward to our next trip Eric and also looking forward to going for a ride in your Defender after Olaf has finished with it.

Thanks for a great day.

Very neat job with the illuminated switches front and rear! I did a search and the Hellas are about £380. Did you go for the heavy duty version with the ventilation hose? Couldn't find any reference to IP rating but they do look great on your truck!

Thumbs Up If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!!

Good evening K9

Yes I did get the heavy duty ones, and have the breathers pulled back to the to the rear of he engine bay. These lights turn night into day with a sharp and very comfortable to look at light throw.

The switches come from Mudstuff.

Enjoy your weekend - hopefully it is a long one in the UK as it is here in CH
