Interior trim
Hi guys!

I've just converted the rear of my 90 from a td5 to a puma to fit forward facing rear seats. One thing I haden't taken into account was that the interior trim around the windows don't fit anymore because of the new seatbelt mounts. When I checked my usual webshops to buy trim for a Puma I was blown away by the price of these panels. I'm ending up close to 900£...!!! So my question, are there any good salvage yards or other shops that deal in used or condemned cars and carparts? I live in Norway so I'm not to familiar with the british carparts marked outside of the well known webshops! Very Happy

Thanks!

Can you modify your existing trim panels ?

I have Td5 which I'm putting windows in and have been looking out for the window trims for some time on eBay - and they always sell for a real premium.

Thanks for the PM, i don't have 3 posts yet so I'm not allowed to send PM myself! Will check and keep a sharp lookout on the page recommended.

As for modifying the existing panels, this will never be pretty because the roll that holds the rear seat belt is so big that you will have to cut away all the trim around it.

On another note, I startet project "IPad mini flush mounted in the dash" today. Great fun!

It's actually quite an easy design. Cut out iPad mini sized hole in the dash, take a 0,9 mm steel plate and cut it so that it's about 0,5 cm bigger than the hole in each direction, bend the top slightly so that you can attach it using the mounting screws in the top of the center console, glue the bottom, use car filler and fill in all around, sand down and repeat until happy, drill a hole for the USB charger cable and finally spray the hole thing with black plastidip! I've attached a strip of magnet tape on the back of my iPad so I pops right in and stays there, but I can also easily remove it from the dash. (Remember to take all measurements with the tape attached) I've mounted the head unit in the cubby and ran all the wires hidden under the carpet next to shifter, thru the fuse box and up. Had to extend all the original wires about 2 meters and also bought a 2 meter charger cable for the iPad. Total cost for project is about 40£. Very Happy

Don't know if this is any help but spotted this Puma trim for sale on Ebay which I think is what you are looking for perhaps you could make them an offer

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAND-ROVER-DEFEN...769wt_1159

I have dealt with the company in the past and they were very helpful.
I am sure if you arrange postage to your country they would oblige.
