I think this is how a Defender should look. I was it in Dulverton on Saturday.

I like its quirkiness! An engine to TDi for!

That's a cool truck, handmade rear doors?... Very straight under the mud!!.. Dulverton is a lovely place, working down near there recently..

Al, AFAIK there was a short run of the squared off doors but they changed the body so that the std doors could be used.

It is a lovely place, I live six miles from here the other side of Tarr Steps. Off to find Cow castle this weekend.

Would not want to replace the rear doors then if they are handmade.

Be that as it may, but that is NOT a 127" wheelbase, it is way longer. If you look, it has a standard 110 rear buck, wheras the 127"s have a shortened buck (look at the length between the rear of the cab and the rear axle). I would say that that is around about 140", possibly 150" wheelbase.

Squared-off second row door have been used on quite a few special vehicles, espcially those stretched and modified to have a third transverse row of seats (like the Lode Lane factory tour transport vehicle).

That is a highly non-standard and very cool vehicle! I wonder who built it (Special Vehicles or private?) and what its story is!

I think it is one of the best Landies. If I see it again I will try and get some info.

The early 127s show up as 110s because they were taken off the 110 line and stretched by SV.

This is indeed an interesting beast and I'd love to know if it is home-made or of SV origin.
