The high temp reading and loss of power is not a rare Td5 problem. It is often cured by running a new earth to the ECM platform direct from the battery.

the temp gague flicks to the red and the goes to blue?
the coolant is boiling in the plastic reseviour? your water pump is not working. either the blades have rusted away or the pump bearing has failed and is not turning so the coolant is not moving as fast as it should be. Here goes a photo from the water pump.
Achuakh was right, the blades were completely rusted away. I just hope the overheating didn’t damage the head gasket! I will keep you informed. Frederico |
