grrrr.... but at least this story ends in me getting my own back!
Was down at the golf club the other day casually littering the surrounding fields with golf balls as i always do ![]() anyway finished the round, came out to the carpark (its very small so there are lots of spaces on the grass, where i always park), said bye to my friend and he drove off, then noticed a jeep (horrible 5 door wrangler thing in black... ![]() So anyway, as he was unloading his clubs i drove off, and on the way out i decided to drive right over the top of a fairly hefty pile of gratuitously placed building sand/rubble type stuff. He stood and watched and i think i reinforced the LR brand's superiority. The cheek though! And furthermore, what was someone as classless as to buy a jeep doing at a golf course? tut tut tut.. Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

This "turning the lights off at night" thing is stupid and a problem for my old parents too. They live on an okay estate but it backs onto a worse area. Since the muppets at Suffolk Council have decided to turn off the lights at night they get more and more youths and other unwanted characters hanging around and making trouble in the early hours. Lighting is one of the best (and cheapest in the long run) forms of crime prevention
![]() I've since bought them security lights as an anniversary present ![]() But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Got it all reported after a nice chat with a sarcastic bloke wanting to know how far I flew, which at the time sadly wasn't appreciated
![]() Yes the lights being turned off are a stupid idea, they should have all been changed to LED bulbs a couple of years ago then we wouldnt have this problem Defender puma dormobile camper |

Had an email off Rimmerbros regarding my poor quality UJ's, they're refunding the cost. It only took them two days to give me a response.

It's lack of consistency that lets businesses down. Whenever I go back to a "good" restaurant with friends it's nearly always crap

I've always had great service from Rimmer, even when it was a request for a non-standard exhaust.

BMW drivers.
Followed a new 14 plate X something playing mobile speed retardant driving at 20 mph in 30 zone, I know 30 is the max not the required speed, when for no reason the ![]() ![]() I took the Female Officer who had arrived on foot, must have got lost somehow, to both scenes and showed her the tyre marks and the road marking, we had a laugh about colour of hair and type of vehicle, she intends visiting the other driver and warning them about driving standards . ![]() ![]() We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to ![]() Richard |

I followed a BMW X-something for about 8 miles on the northbound M5 past Exeter this afternoon. It was being driven at a steady 50 mph in lane 2. There was light traffic, lorries every couple of hundred yards in lane 1, nothing in lane 3, but because I had a trailer I couldn't overtake the gormless (female) driver. Eventually, after several minutes of headlight flashing she woke up, accelerated to 70 and pulled into lane 1.
It's a while since I've been inconvenienced by this sort of mindless ignorant driving, and I had forgotten how frustrating it is. |

![]() So got my small welder out again, moved half the workshop to get some space to do some quick welds to check all is working. Plumbed up the co2 hose held the regulator up to the bottle and ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() So now need to get a bull nose connector sent special delivery before bank holiday. Give me strength. |

At 22 I'm not sure I'm allowed to post in the grumpy old man thread, however this rant has been going round in my head so much I have started having arguments with myself about it.
I live in North Devon, plenty of lovely fast A and B roads. In the autumn, winter and early spring the are lovely and quiet and great fun to drive on. The majority of them are 60+ mph in a defender. In the tourist season these great roads become 30 mph or below roads, which in itself I don't really mind as my family's livelihood is dependant on tourists and so is our local economy. So I am patient and courteous. But for ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I have patiently followed you at a safe distance for 6 miles at 30 mph and below, knowing that at the other side of the village is a good overtaking opportunity, then when we enter the 30 zone you leave me standing. I patiently go through the village at 30, only to catch you up again a minute later going at a snails pace again?!?!? WHY???? Option 1) Follow at 50 through the village and risk getting caught by mr plod with his nasty radar gun/ ![]() Option 2) Try and overtake before the village (less room/make self look like a cock) Option 3) Become bald with pulling out of hair Also there is a slim chance that if I selected option 2 the overtakee could be one of our customers. Ps. Option 4 is take my motorbike, I hadn't really considered this option till now, however with the standards of some of the tourist driving I'd defiantly feel safer in the defender 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |
