Apart from the led interior bulbs, especially with an extra one over the 2nd row of seats and the eberspacher air heater in my 110 station wagon, by far the most used mod on mine would be the heated screen. Even in our wonderfull summers you'll find the screen misting up with wet clothes when you all pile in, keep the windows closed to keep the rain out and fill the interior with condensation.

yes gas strut is good mod , but a little warning they are a bit urgent when opened , I got a another gas strut with less push then there better !

Thanks custom90steve and bear100 i am considering the gas strut, but cant buy just yet, i have been given a challenge not to buy anything for the defender for a month Big Cry but on a positive ill have more money saved to buy something nice next month Rolling with laughter

Also down to how the door is opened!

Have seen people just open the door and let the gas strut extend in an uncontrolled manner.

The correct method is to release the door latch and then CONTROL the door opening by placing a hand on the door so it has a small amount of resistance.

Exactly what I do. Thumbs Up Puts massive strain on the strut fixings too.

Soundproofing,with rubber sheet,rad haz kit,inch thick felt and camping mats (Heath Robinson, eat yer heart out!) or DIY Dinotrol. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

Best mod I did was installing a Raintracker rain and light sensor. Puts a smile on my face everytime it does it's work Very Happy

- Automatically switches lights and windscreen wipers on and off
- No longer forget to switch the lights off
