Service intervals
When do 2.4Tdci's need servicing?

Looked through paperwork, and I think it's only required 12monthly or 12thou miles, is that correct?

Thanks
Andy

That great. Thanks all. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

It was serviced just before I got then. But I would like to service it, as I like to service every 5thou miles but have warranty, so I wanted to check if I had to book it in to main dealer.

Matt. Yes Tdci now Thumbs Up

I think you should take into account the type of work the vehicle does. I quite often tow a van which seems to constitute "severe" operating according to the book and it's done in sometimes pretty high temps.
Accordingly I change the engine oil and filter every 10k and all the drive line oils every 40k. I don't think it's necessary to go as far as doing it every 5k, seems like over kill.
Doing it yourself makes it cheaper and you have the satisfaction of knowing it's actually been done.......helps you sleep better at night. Smile
Cheers.

Agree with above...above the "arduous usage" is only 10k KM (6k Miles):

I'm doing 10k miles/annum, but doing an 6-month, 6k service myself (just an oil and filter change), and taking it to the main stealer for it's annual service.

I'll be changing the transmission fluids every 2nd year.

Having said that, mine's not getting "arduous" use, some trailer work, but no significant offroading (if I was doing lots of deep water wading, I would change the transmission oils more frequently in case water had got in). Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)
