Tips for Safari Snorkel Fitting
I'm looking at fitting a Safari Snorkel to my new Defender myself (how hard can it be........he says?) In reality, I need it to be fitted properly (Iceland trip in Jul) and i suppose the only way to ensure this (having just moved back to the UK and not knowing any trustworthy dealers Shocked ) is to fit it myself. Its the little things such as painting the drill holes so no bare metal if left etc etc.

So......the plan is to do it myself - any top tips or handy hints?

Thanks

Just a quick addition/tip.......If you are very careful in aligning the template and continually 'offer' the snorkel up you don't have to take the holes out bigger than 12mm. I got away with 12mm! Why drill bigger holes than is absolutely necessary? 'Wet assemble' everything with the sealant and you should have no corrosion issues.

Put masking tape along the inner and outer wings - once you start drilling the screen you will never get any swarf out of that gap it any gets in! Euro-Leafing to infinity and beyond.....
