Took some bits off for my trip to a friend of a friend who's a painter. The bits that are being done are a set of arches, the headlight surrounds (I had hoped to keep the center section silver, but it was pretty corroded so its all going green) along with a tailgate supplied by AJS on here. Also swapped the daytime running light bumper to a galvanized one which took a lot of hammering to open up to get to fit. (The reason the plates only taped on is ill still be putting mine on and am trying to get a series bracket to mount it on top of the bumper).
Heres a pic of how its looking now temporarily. The tow bar arrived to so ill paint that up to fit next week as will be needed along with the gwyn lewis front mudflap the same as on my last and would recommend to anyone! Galvanised D rings are for the list (or at least the early Defender type)
The Blindo's are pretty much a dead cert but might have to wait a little while, sadly the mudflaps are plain, I tried painting a series set when I had that and it didnt last so they'll be staying black. Considering going back to orange indicators for the front (bolt on bits Rdx LED ones though to match the others) What do you think about bumper end caps? as have a set but quite like it without by the time its got a front pressed plate on the series above bumper mount. Eagle eyed will notice the Defender 2 sticker isnt on the screen now as despite applying vinyl to boats most weeks I still managed to cock it up and put a sight tear in an e second time lucky hopefully Defender puma dormobile camper |

Personally not a bumper end cap fan myself.
But if you have them lying around you could always push them on for couple of days whilst you decide before drilling and fixing. One of the cast ally badges would be nice too. |

Love the new bumper I noticed the grill started corroding, odd as it's suppose to be stainless from brendan at 4x4 overlander. Keep the clear indicators, orange ones just don't suit it mate CSK Automotive

Cheers Chris.
It was definitely aluminium as a bit had come off anyway. the grilles nice so thats can stay silver. The old bumper went to a good home round the corner. Probably right about the indicator to Kipper Chris allready had a lovely cast badge on the back. I think ill leave the front clear though. I reckon ill leave the caps off as its growing on me Defender puma dormobile camper |

A quick lunch update! Had a friend in our second jobs who is a stainless steel fabricator make me 2 tailgate hinges for the cross member (Im sure He'd do more if anyones desperate for them) . the originals are good but I found in the past leave little rust streaks. These are identical down to the welds but stainless with stainless bolts, I fitted them with rubber behind as usual so theres no contact. Also put a clear rear fog on and gave the towbar another coat of paint.

Hi Lewis
No Sorry there only off as there at the paint shop being sprayed to match the car with some other bits. If I were buying a set though and they werent allready on the car id go for the entreq ones as look a bit better quality. Brendan on here sells them both painted and unpainted I think these are the Nakatanenga ones Defender puma dormobile camper |

Tow bar painted and electrics are now fitted Cheers for the help Landy Andy and Land Rover Anorak I put the electrics in the cross member as they showed and it looks much neater All checked and working. I wont ever use the 13 pin style as always use a lighting board for boats/ trailers
Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Also my hoods been dispatched the bits are being painted with the frame made and off at the galvanizers. So shouldnt be long now Might trial fit the snorkel this week as ahead of schedule Defender puma dormobile camper |

Picked up a nice Land Rover genuine snorkel a while ago which I was keeping (I only got it as despite being a new take off it was less than the cheapest safari copies) only thing was there were no instructions. Luckily its fairly simple to fit and went perfectly without any mistakes, all copper greased behind as well to prevent long term corrosion as I intend to have it a good few years. Heres the pics from earlier it probably took about an hour by the time id sorted some stainless bolts and the right sized drills.
