Truck has been 2 days at the dealer's body shop. They did not remove the entire capping as apparently that would mean taking good part of the body apart, but they removed the pop rivet, and treated the rear side of the capping with rust inhibitor and anti-rust paint via the rivet hole, then put a new identical pop rivet back in, and painted it all back as original.
Looks all picture perfect now, let's hope that this little rust spot does not come back anymore. All was done by Autobritt dealers under the extended rust warranty without a problem. Later this spring the truck will go to Basel for a Dinitrol reapplication, and I believe those guys know how to treat with Dinitrol behind those cappings too. Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |
