Yes. Lower profile means less roll

I was thinking about the actual thickness and sidewall strength rather than the depth, some tyres (BFG's) have a strong sidewall, so does that make them handle/corner better or does it make no difference?

The BFG's certainly are stronger sidewalls but handling doesn't really make much difference as they aren't the type of tyres to go mad on.
The are an improvement though yes imo $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

If you're going to be that serious about improving the handling, then you need to swap to 18 inch wheels (or 20's but they can make the ride very harsh) with much lower profile tyres. However, if you do the suspension mods that you've talked about elsewhere then I think you'll be pleasantly surprised and probably won't feel the need to mess about with wheels. Darren

Cheers Anorak, I've bought a rear ARB today and I'm looking at probably Koni shocks and a Superpro bush kit, but wondered if the actual tyre mattered much, some have stiffer side walls than others, if not then i'll leave them as they are, after reading a few reports of Goodyear Duratrac's they are supposed to have a softer sidewall and are lighter, I don't suppose it'll make that much overall difference to body roll but I didn't want it to cancel out the suspension upgrades

Sidewalls will make a difference Paul, but you'll slide about long before that. A softer compound rubber would make a bigger difference IMO
