Streaaaatch Sankey
Hi all,

Now I have got the saw issues sorted I am looking at better ways of transporting the logs than loading up to window level in the cargo area of my CSW 110.

I am doing my trailer test this month (or next) to remove any issues to do with how much I can tow but also because I've only done it on private land so and would like some formal training on the matter.

ANYWAY, looking at trailers the type which strikes me immediately as being most suitable for my needs would be a sankey widetrack.

However, they are a bit small for some of the larger stuff I might end up moving so was wandering, is there such a thing as a stretch sankey or a next size up?

Clearly I could buy a normal sankey and just insert an extra foot but if there is one pre-made would make life easier.

Your thoughts?

Why not get an Ifor Williams tipper and be done with it? I load my to the gunnels, can’t imagine you’d get much more than a 1.5 cube in a Sanky and you have to hand ball it every time. Nick

I love my sankey (currently loaded full of logs!) and find it perfect size. Rather than stretching it how about putting a Hi Cap body on? Sprayed to match the 110 would also look smart!

Rapier trailers are much bigger. Eight foot load bed, IIRC. Darren

Surrey Rover: Have looked at an Iforwilliams but think a tipper may be a bit too complex for what I need but thank you for the suggestion!

Jeremy: Yes have seen that as a conversion but I think just cutting the body and chassis and welding in a section would be cheaper than buying a Sankey, and then a tub and altering both to fit. That said, much more likely to find that on ebay so will keep my eyes pealed Very Happy

LandRoverAnorak: Rapier Trailers look great might just fit the bill and seem to be about the same price as a widetrack- will keep an eye out Very Happy
