Not a chance on a 2011, unless someone found a 4 year old engine lying around the factory! |

The egr......I suspect is ok. while stationery if I rev the engine to about 2k I believe I can hear the egr open then close and I get chukka chukka when I turn the engine off
The knocking I refer to is occasional and as I've always thought sounds like the knocking I'd expect to hear from wrong fueling..... Def went in for replacement breather on fuel tank which apparently ended with tank removal....car ran a treat for a day or so after....overtaking cars and all sorts which for anyone who knows me means something was out of the ordinary (ordinarily good in this instance) When I did service / fuel filter..again immediate improvement but short lived. Mostly happens first thing in the morning but has happened a few other times..can pull off and seems like the engine takes a few seconds to catch up.....bit like the clutch is a great big rubber band and it's unwinding??? But the annoying part is the knocking.........sometimes low revs in top gear and no hesitation, just smooth like you'd expect from a modern diesel...........other times in what 'I' would expect to be as close as to make no difference the same circumstances and the fueling seems to be all wrong???? I've wasted plenty of money already so it may come as no surprise I'm considering 'wasting more '..... How much to replace the engine loom? Last edited by Caterham on 19th Mar 2014 12:21pm. I will be massively interested to know if Lorryman can sort this out for Caterham, try imagining how frustrating it would be owning his Land Rover DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,
I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy |

Blackwolf....i'm sure u r iright ...not a chance but with my paranoia I suspect perhaps has been rotting in a field for a long time just waiting for some mug with big ears to turn up ....
Frustrating is nothing compared to the pyschoatric costs. |

Did you change the VCV? The symptoms sound lot like a faulty VCV. Perhaps you've found another faulty one.
