I,m new here !
Hello............ Followed various threads and found myself here as i was looking for MPG comparisons. I have an 08 90 XS and it has 1,500 miles on it. MPG ? 35.7 That is no joke ! i may also be new on here but i,m definately not new to land rovers ! I only checked consumption as i thought it was returning good results. I carried out a route of Motorway ! A & B roads off road lanes low box etc ! from an article running monthly in the LRO magazine ! I,m off to driffield on Saturday so i will check again ? |

I get 32 mpg on my new 110USW (engine still tight) I used to get 34 out of my 90. These figures are not one off's as I commute 350 miles a week on A roads and motorways.
I get this by - 1. Changing gear around 2250 2. Never really going over 65 3. EGR partially blanked 4. BAS Remap 5. Fuchs 05w/30 fully synthetic fuel economy oil 6. ITG Air Filter Happy days PS I know when to floor it to (Thanks Pete) 1964 Series IIA SWB Truck Cab - gone 1981 Series III SWB Hardtop - gone 1982 Series III SWB Hardtop - gone 1997 300Tdi Defender 90 Hardtop - gone 1983 Series III SWB Station Wagon - gone 1979 Series III SWB Station Wagon - gone 2007 90 CSW - gone 2010 USW XS - gone 2010 110 USW - gone 1959 Series II Truck Cab 1984 Series III CSW 2004 TD5 90 CSW |

Great going Mr Woo! Robofarmer said you were getting around the 32-34 mark. I now have my EGR partially blanked, my 90 is also with an ITG filter, when my map is back on if I can get anywhere near 32 I'll be 'well happy.' May have to have a stint of driving Miss Daisy myself to see if I can beat it....Be interesting to find out!

ive been averaging about 30mpg over the last 3500 miles or so.
Fill it up, usually go about 20 miles after the fuel light bong scares the crap out of me (usually because it ALWAYS comes on when I'm goosed after a mad day and just can't be bothered to stop to fill up!) Remember the days when people didn't bother about MPG as fuel was reasonably priced? I don't! Guess I'm just thinking of an ideal world.... |

Hi All,
seem to get 400 miles from the tank when I keep the revs below 2000 Mostly drive Cornish twisty roads but not at speed, but cover 500 miles a month on motorways at about 60. I think that this equates to 28-30 mpg.... Got a full lenght Brownchurch roof rack on and its fully fitted as a camper - so a fair bit of extra weight in the back. Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html Elgar -TDCI(Puma) 110XS Dormobile - now sold Devon & Cornwall 4x4 Response - DC126 |
