IP66 or above
hello all and first thanks for looking.
my problem i want to solve is this i need a panel fit socket and plug IP66 or above.
this is to go on the roof of my defender for pluging my led light bar into.
now i have searched the web but can't find just what i'm lookinng for.
2 pin socket with srcew on cap (for when plug not fitted roof rack off)
2 pin screw fitting plug (for good connection as will be fitted for long periods)
socket to be neat and corrosion resistent (not 16/32amp industrial Whistle )
rated at 16mps or over.(this seems to be the problem part)
have looked at loads of marine stuff but no luck in this country.
don't mind paying for the right thing.
any links or solutions greatfully recieved and followed up.

thanks in advance steve Thumbs Up

p.s
light bar and rack on need to take off for some work. cable hole already in roof 20mm.(can ofcoarse/will make bigger for socket. 110 xs s/wagon

Tim at Mobile centre does one. It is rated at 16amp, but has 5 pins so you could double up and leave one pin redundant.

Nakatanenga a site sponsor does the Aquaseal 5 pin connector rated at 16 amp and IP65 at 34 euros.

We get regular supplies from Germany so could supply the Aquaseal connector for £30-£31

Might also be worth considering the Magcode power system but max current is 15 amp

The Binder connectors above are used on our cranes by Potain only waterproof after a lot of silicone honest !!! 90% of my crane breakdowns are due to water in plugs and sockets, harting sockets are even worse Bain of my life. If everything is under control you are not going fast enough.

Hmm, my car lives outside, and I have the Binder connector now for four years and never had any issue with it... Cheers, Vincent
