welcome Rory,
seats are always a personal thing. questions to be answered are: - are you large or small in size (height and width)? - are you doing long journeys? - is this your first defender? (are you used to the standard seat, or come from a comfy luxury saloon car) - have you got a large disposable income that the extra cost doesn't mean compromises elsewhere? (are you on wayne roony's payscale) I've only briefly sat on the premium seat and for me I could not justify the additional cost. |

Hi Rory,
given that the seats cost an extra £1000, if you bought a vehicle with standard seats and sold them for say £600, you would effectively have £1600 to spend on after market seats. you pays your money and takes your choice |

I will look for a local dealer who has a set to try out.
I am 6 ft 2 and about 17.5 stone The truck will be used for short distances I have had a few older defenders, 300 tdi and td5 a few years ago, i also have a 1955 series 1 The extra cost is not an issue, i plan to keep this for a few years. Cheers |

I think the standard seats are pretty good, and more in keeping with the Defender's "traditional" interior.
I'm NOT knocking the premium seats, it's just what I prefer. I understand there are a few different colour combinations for the premium seats now. We recently did a 1500K trip in our 90 & found the part leather standard seats very comfy. Cheers, Pickles. |

I have the premium seats, I am 6'3" and around that weight. IMO they are worth the money and make it more comfortable for me compared to my 90 with std seats. I would recommend you also go for a door handle replacement of a soft material like a leather strap for example (available form a site sponsor) I am looking for some seat frame extension / modification as 6'2" and above could do with the seat a little further back 90 & Wolf

I have ordered these seats on my 110, should be good! Never sat in them, they don't have any in Australia to try so I just took a chance and some advice from someone who had sat in them!

I have the standard half leather seats on MUD rails - (only) with a seat and back support they're very comfy, even doing 1000km at a stretch. I've tried premiums but they're not much better (although I'm only 5'11).
You say you'll only do short distances, so perhaps better spend the money on a BAS intercooler and turbo Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |
