Netherlands 1986 Defender 90 200 Tdi SW Zambezi Silver
[Sold] 1992 Defender 110 CSW 200Tdi reduced price again!
In 2012 a friend of mine bought a 1992 Defender 110 in the UK. The car was imported to the Netherlands and used as a daily driver. He now wants to move on and asked me to put this up for sale.

The original registration was J773YMS

The chassis of the Defender is in quite good condition, no need to change or patch any parts on the chassis. The bulkhead has minor rust signs but overall is in a good condition.

It has Borbet wheels and BF goodridge all terrain tyres on it. The spare is a simple steel wheel with a BF Goodridge all terrain tire on it.

The rear door was changed to the 2002 and later type. This includes the newer style wheel carrier and 3rd brake light (not wired in)

The four doors are OK but not brilliant.

The engine is very strong and hardly uses oil and does not leak oil Wink In 2012 the head gasket blew and the head was reconditioned. The injectors cleaned and checked and everything put back together.

It has Puma front and rear seats and two simple fold down seats in the cargo area.

The dash is fitted with a MUD console. No switches on it yet, does house the radio.

Overall quite a nice car. But as with every defender that is used what it's for, do not expect a flawless example!

The G4 roofrack is optional!

I am shure he will be willing to bring the car over to the UK. There are enough ferry services to and from the Netherlands.

Asking price will be 6500 pounds

He needs to get it sold ASAP. EUR 5.000,00 buys it! (that's about 4150 pounds.)

Just some advice to your friend.

I know its a land rover but surely if he wants to sell it quickly then give it a good clean inside & out present it like you want to sell it at present the pictures make it look used & abused and not looked after, just gives a potential buyer an easy reason to knock the price Thumbs Up

When he brought it over from the uk it had 105.000 miles on it.

The speedo was changed to km/h and a new unit was put in. The odometer now shows 36500 km

Total mileage is just below 128.000 miles

If you have any questions PM me. I know the car well.

Price now reduced to EUR 4750,00!

More info on the Defender;

The engine is a 200Tdi, it was originally delivered as a 200Tdi. NOT a converted 2.5TD. Last year the head gasket blew. We pulled the head and had it reconditioned. New valve guides, reground valve seats and skimmed the surface. We fitted it with new Elring gaskets and new bolts. The compression was tested and is very good! At the same time we fitted a new radiator and oil cooler. Also the injectors were cleaned and tested. It’s safe to say the engine runs good, does not leak oil or consumes it.

Recently the LT77 gearbox developed a problem with fifth gear. One of the bearings on a secondary shaft gave up. The box was changed for a good second hand unit. At the same time the fluids were changed and a new clutch kit (AP) and HD fork were fitted. Also the flexy hose and slave cylinder were renewed.

The axles are good, they do not leak oil or have excessive play (back lash) Front brake pads were renewed in 2013 As far as I can determine the wheel bearings are still OK. The rear axle is the Salisbury type and has the anti roll bar fitted. The ball joint on the arm of the steering box was renewed in 2012. The steering box has some play in it. You might be able to dial it out a bit. The wheels are Borbet’s. Very strong alloy wheels. The tyres are BF goodridge All Terrains in 285 size. Plenty if life left in the tyres. The spare is a standard steel rim with a narrower BF goodridge All Terrain tyre.

As far as the electrics, the rear fog light and reverse light need to be connected. The rear wiper and third brake light are not rewired yet. Both simple tasks that I can do if needed. The rest of the electrics work as they should. The car is fitted with the newer type fuses, not the glass type as the earlier defenders had. It also has the clear plastic headlights.

The interior is good. The car is fitted with newer style front seats and rear seats. They are a massive improvement over the standard 1992 items. The front seat have seat heating, they do need to be wired in! The cargo area is fitted with two inward fold down jump seats. Carpeting is present and OK . The dash is fitted with a MUD console. No switches in the console yet.

The bodywork is reasonable. No big dents or rusty areas. The bulkhead is in very good condition. Some small spots of rust near the ventilation flaps but the upper corners, door pillars and foot wells are very solid! The doors are in reasonable condition. The bottoms show rusty areas but the will fit the bill for years to come. The rear door was changed for a later type. This is the type that does not rust anymore! A very nice upgrade!! The bonnet, front wings and sills are all fitted with bespoke quality checker plate. The upper and side grills on the front wings are stainless steel.

The chassis, no rust holes or urgent work needed to it. The rear cross member is still the original one! For it´s age the chassis is in exceptional condition.

I have access to a garage with a four point lift. If you want to you can come over to inspect the car yourself. It is no problem to inspect it on the lift.

If you have any additional questions feel free to ask!!
