United Kingdom 2014 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 XS DCPU Bonatti Grey
SOLD ... 2008 Double Cab XS 2.4 TDCI Stornaway Grey 76k Mi
Now sold...

All being well, I am about to take the plunge and buy a new DC... so my old one is looking for a new home!

It is on a 57 plate but first registered 31 Jan 2008. It's had two owners since new including myself, and has got full service history and is now on 76,000 miles. A new MOT will be done tomorrow and I believe the next annual service is due in June or July.

It's the XS spec in Stornaway Grey, so has all the usual luxuries such as heated seats, screen, electric front windows and air con. It has the standard LR radio/cd head unit with mp3 and the half leather seats.

It's been my every day car and has been properly used, but not abused. There's the odd mark on the paintwork.. most noticeably my efforts to touch up some marks made by the previous owner, however the LR touch up paint was not very well matched! Easily rectified by someone with greater patience than myself. Crucially, I always jet wash mud from the underside and keep the interior squeaky clean. Also, it has never been to off-road courses or anything similar.

If you see the pics in my album, its got a rack and winch bumper (for dragging haylage bales around the stables and trailers out of mud) as well as an ifor top. However, it will be returned to standard as I will need to transfer these goodies onto my new one. So below is an pic of it as an 'unadulterated' vehicle. It will come with the tow pack and the original canopy/tilt on the back. The spare wheel is the original and is on a swing-away carrier which will also be left in place. The other tyres are continental cross contact ATs and have done circa 20k so have plenty of milage left on them.

It's a great car that has served me very well and reliably. There are not many of them around and they hold their money well. But when I make a decision, I just like to get on with it, so I am not going to push the price.. So £16,000 it is to a forum member. Unlike many, the VAT is already paid which helps make it cheaper, and I think at that price, it is quite possibly the best value DC on the market!

Thanks Steve. It has been a great car, just want to get a new one before production stops next year, but seeing as I'm impatient, I can't wait till next year Rolling Eyes

MOT now renewed... Together with the typically short-lived drag rod dust covers.

Collecting the new one on Friday, and as much as I'd love two landies, it would be a bit greedy... So anyone interested?

I've popped it into autotrader, but don't know whether eBay is any good for selling cars.. Anyone had much experience of selling cars on eBay?

Found autotrader much better for selling - put my disco2 on ebay a while back, something like 400 views and no bids in 10 days. Then tried auto trader, over 1500 views and sold within the week Very Happy 1959 Series 2 Ragtop

Afraid so Mac.. I'd be lost without it! That's going straight onto my new one Very Happy If you're looking for one, they are like hens teeth so good luck, but it's worth waiting for a Patriot one. Having seen the other makes available, Patriot is better made, doesn't create wind noise and is completely modular, so side rails bolt on and off, giving much more flexibility. BUT be sure to copper grease the bolts!
