Hi all
I'm looking for some single cable connectors (2x male and 2x female) for 6mm2 cable and up to 5A. The reason is that I've installed a 12V to 24V converter next to the battery for my LED headlights and I'd like to be able to quickly "rewire/replug" directly to the battery in case the converter goes tits up. Single 2.5A SuperSeals aren't beefy enough (and I can't find the right search terms) - any suggestions please? Many thanks Matt Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Superseal are 14A rated, are they not?
I'm sure Tim @ Mobilecentre will do something suitable. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

Bullets? More like mortar shells.....The yellow variety of bullets may just fit, mind you don't give yourself a hernia crimping them.
You'll be hard pushed to find anything small to acommodate a 6mm cable with only a 5 amp capacity, it'll be more like something out of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. It's 6mm square section - diameter is about 2.8mm
I thought Superseals only went up to 2.5A - I just read 10A somewhere... p.s. I solder everything Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Matt you're still using a cable capable of carrying upwards of 34 amps for a 5 amp job? Smaller cable means more discreet subtle finish perhaps and more choice when it comes to connectivity? You could potentially use something like this for easy connectivity and it'll be fused as well to protect whatever it's supplying dependant on what you want to achieve. You will just need two female sockets to revert back if need be, the bonus is you'll get to do a bit of soldering too. http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/10a-fused-snap-i...itch-n94cz If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! The cable is already in there (2.8mm diameter) - I originally bought it for another project for low voltage drop over 10 metres with higher 15-20A current. I know it's overkill but it was just handy when rewiring the lights
Click image to enlarge I mis-read the SuperSeal info in German as "2,5 AMP" - it's actually made by "AMP" and is the "2,5" model They actually are big enough to take the cable and take 20A. Thanks Martin for making me look again Might buy them or similar from Tim now Cheers all for the help, Matt Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
