I don't have a rack, but if I did, I can put one on when it's out of the garage !

I can do you a set of springs...
I already offer 90 front and rear springs (-2" over standard) - in either standard spring rates, or usually uprated for better road handling. It wouldn't be a problem to get you a set lowered springs for your 110 - just need to know what colour springs are fitted at the moment, and if you want the rating increased. Sorry about last night's input...It is now morning and I have removed my jovial head and replaced it with one of a more serious nature! I knew I had read somewhere of an individual who had lowered his Defender by 35mm with a 'performance suspension' somewhere on the site. I have done a little digging and maybe you should 'pm' badwookie in Kuwait as this is what he has achieved! Or badwookie can give you the details of kit used? Here it is:- http://www.defender2.net/forum/post29539.html#29539 Hope this is what you seek! Maybe taking a dump in the Queen's handbag is achievable after all! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Souns like the best thing for you is to trade your 110 in for a Flealander.

Lots add's in UK magazines reference +1 and +2 inches of lift, and also -1 inch lifts (i.e. a drop), which is about 32mm you need. Sorry can't recall brands to hand, check the usual suspects?
Would assume your older vehicle has soggy suspension and worn tyres - hence it fits |

JE Engineering offer a sports suspension package which would lower the Defender. Wouldn't start down the route of lower tyre wall ratios as this will reduce the rolling radius of the tyres and thus lower the overall gearing, i.e. you will be turning the engine over at a higher number of revolutions for the same speed as before, thus making the speedo over-read further.

Agreed. Keep your tyres and get lowered springs. Do a search on this site and you might find the posts from Dubai around performance lowering. Obviously you'll lose a little bit of off-road capability but it won't stop you in your tracks (Defenders didn't used to come with these big 32" tyres). Alternatively just buy loads of add-ons and the additional weight will sink you an inch or so One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS + New Defender 110 First Edition |

thanks guys for all the posts, I must admit I was pretty upset yesterday not being able to drive my new truck into/out of the garage without big weight (me) in the back to drop the rear roof line down. Those nice people at JE Engineering found me some -25mm springs, so when I get them installed all will be rosy. Here's a picture of both my trucks .. until tomorrow when the td5 goes back to the UK .. Click image to enlarge |
