United Kingdom 2009 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Stornoway Grey
Air Con
I have a 2009 110sx. This has been serviced on a regular basis, however I presume that checking the air con is not part of the service schedule. i had to have the engine out out twice under warranty work so i presume that they will have to have diss connect the air con and therefore fully recharge the system. I do run the air con during the winter months as it helps clear the screen.

However I have read that air con should be separately serviced/topped up every 3 years and telling if it is just a little inefficient over a period of time is hard to tell. Or is this just sales talk?

even if they full of gas when you drain them (done by machine) then give it a proper vacuum (minium 30mins ) then refill they always seem to work better

you can buy the air con topup cylinders yourself from halfords etc, otherwise Kwikfit/mot centre type place will do them for a bit more, no biggie...

my car is 4yo and its still cold enough to fog up the windscreen on the outside if i only have it pointing upwards, never been degassed Cheers, David

Just a quick question on air con, should the compressor cycle on and off under normal operation or just stay on and maintain its own pressure regulation.
As this is my first lr with a.c. I was`ent sure if all was ok or not and it may be over gassed...
