Wheel loads...
Just struggling what is right in selecting the right wheels.

What wheel load is needed by a max. axle load of 2.200 Kg? (Defender 130).
Is there any law or insurance policy that refers to this?

Landrover uses only the HD steel wheels (Rated 2.200 Kg. each), but I have read 1/2 of max axle load is only (lawful) necessary.

Thanks,

Q.

Can't help you with an answer, but in this case, it might be worth asking on the lrch forum?
Or maybe even better, your insurance agent?

Bare minimum half axle load (if you can find such a wheel), BUT,I dont think your gonna get a specific answer, to many variables, legalities can vary from one country to the next also tyres have load ratings.

So in answer to your question "what is right", if you only use it on the road (no load), half axle weight, but be aware of potholes and high kerbs,if your carrying a ton of equipment across the Alps,HD steel wheels.
Not so much, "what is law", as "what is common sense". Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.
