I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and let them sort this out, hopefully it is an honest mistake.
I'm going to speak to him again shortly... I'll let ye know how it goes. |

When I received my 110, I went to see it at the dealers came from the Uk with all steel wheels and my dealer replaced all 5 wheels with boost alloys. Your spare should be a boost alloy! Good luck let us know how it goes. '08 LR Defender 110

So... both the sales and service managers refused to budge. The salesperson tried to tell me that the service manager "seems to recall that the vehicles ship with the steel wheel as a spare", which is , as I saw the truck in person.
I said that this needs to be sorted, so he recommended that I speak with the owner, his boss, tomorrow - as he isn't in. I've spoke to him in the past, nice enough guy... but we'll see. I'm not very happy about this, very disappointed. I wasn't expecting this type of silliness. |

Call LR customer service and ask them - they have been very helpful recently. When they confirm you should have an alloy spare pass that info onto the dealer and tell him LR told you.
Just had a walk round the dealer near me and all XS's have an alloy as a spare as does mine. Bob |

I would not wonder LR would deliver a car with a different wheel (unique QC). Anyway, unacceptable. Get the alloy and keep the steel Puma 110" SW

No, not a main dealer. I even rang the main dealer that had it before the specialist reseller received it, and they also confirmed that all XS' ship with 5 wheels. I called LR customer service, and they could tell that it left the factory with boost alloys, but couldn't tell me anything about the spare - save that it had a cover. I realise that I should've checked right away when I got the truck in November, but after just having seen it in person a week or so prior to picking it up - I never though that they'd pull this on me. Not cool. |

I don't think XS models leave the factory with a spare wheel cover. Your cover has the 2nd dealers name on it anyway, so that was fitted later presumably.

Thats not cool at all! You should take up the matter because how would you be able to use the steel wheel at a spare if you do have a puncture, the steel wheel is fitted with Michelin tyres whereas boost alloys are fitted with general grabbers, I'm certainly sure the tyre size is different, correct me if I'm wrong? All Land Rovers around here come with an alloy spare wheel ... even if we buy that as an extra (i.e. I could buy the E version (County in the UK I think) with optional alloys) we get 5 alloys not 4+1 steel wheel!
I know this because I asked when I choose mine ... Regards Joao '10 Land Rover Defender 110 CC '08 BMW F800GS '64 SIIA Forward Control '69 SIIA 109 ZA CKD _____________________________________________ You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say will be misquoted, then used against you. |

No, they actually put the Grabbers on this spare. I'd never seen a black steel spare on a Defender before, I'd only ever seen the white metal ones. |

That can't be unless they have taking your spare boost alloy and sold it off or exchanged for a steel wheel. General grabbers are only fitted to the boost alloys and michelins on the steel wheels, both are standard procedure directly from factory. All steel wheels are white like you said. You must demand for boost alloy back and keep the steel wheel as a 2nd spare '08 LR Defender 110
