Caterham, the diesel gauge is not really linear, but if what you say would be true, I am convinced you have not a real Defender but some Chinese copy
Now I see, your Chinese copy shows 188.7 miles, but it has been wired differently there, and in reality you have done only 188.7km on a quarter tank. Still pretty good though. You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

The last fill up was with BP ultimate. 514 miles and 70.83 lts. That's 33 mpg. So nothing special really.
From what I've seen and from what others have noted I reckon 37 mpg is possible (with some real effort) but I reckon that's about as much as you can get in real world conditions??? Who's going to be first to get 600 miles on a standard setup? ( remaps included but not long range tanks) |

ericv - with all the problems I had in the first couple of years I'm pretty damn sure its not a copy
i bit disappointed as the last few trips in the truck have been short (8mile) journeys from cold so this really isn't going to help what I thought might have been one of my best mpg tanks to date. anyone know anyone thats getting equally good mpg (or better) out of a 2.2 as I thought they were supposed to be more economical? |

just done the sums and 37mpg on a full 75 ltr tank gives in excess of 600 miles.....
so who's going to be first? I think if I spend a little more time orgainising my journeys and co-ordinate with the weather I reckon I'll breatk 600 miles. my next trip to Swansea for example will need to be with a westerly wind.....and my return when the wind has changed to an easterly |

I'm Getting images in my head that your going to start weight saving on the defender next, maybe take the seats out, even a lighter carbon fiber bumper and no carpets haha.
Well done in all seriousness though ill be amazed if you manage the next stage! Im just jealous as mine was about 26 last time Defender puma dormobile camper |
