Hello,
I have no experience of a nanocom tester so please bare with me (only used to dealer level kit) can the nanocom kit reconfigure the abs ecu from rhd to lhd this might help. (I know this works on lhd mini buses / motorhomes that have been converted and everything gets a bit confused especially on fiats ) Or if it gives wheel speed signal read outs does it show speed signal of spinning wheel in its correct location, If above is ok check ident codes on abs modulator unit correspond with wheel location if nessary follow the pipes. I had this problem once on a brand new frontera the inlet pipe to the abs unit was connected to the output of the modulator this gave me a really hard pedal and no brakes, that was the longest p,d,i I ever did, hope this helps |

To me being a sparky the idea of you repinning the modulator connector seems the quickest and simplest solution. Maybe an hours toil? How long would it take you to do the mechanical option? A damn sight longer I'd wager.
Keep it simple. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

OK, re pinned purple plug to ABS ECU (swapped pins 1 & 2 for 4 & 5 and 7 & 8 for 9 & 10) to change operation of left hand a right hand ABS. so now when I ask for LF test on the nanocom the LF wheel dutifully locks up...hooray.
BUT, being a glutton for punishment I thought that I would test further (as basically nothing on the ABS/TC works (even the dash lights!)). So, test outputs for option on the nanocom eg LF input you hear a solenoid ticking away and the same for all other inputs and outputs until I come to Left Rear Output....select this and the ABS pump runs as if a full wheel test!!! So, I assume that either the Nanocom is faulty or the ABS unit Left Rear output solenoid is faulty. Seem Logical? The ABS ECU is showing no faults (I have a spare ECU and it gives the same results). So, the big question: Is the ABS pump modulator unit serviceable as far as the output solenoid goes? Again thanks for any hints! This is the company most recommended for repairing pumps, from what they say there are very limited repairs you can do.Have you got any fault codes at all??Hope this helps.

hiya
can your nancom actuate the dash warning light ? if so this would prove wiring ok or has some one removed the bulb / led because of an under lining fault? i don't know what lives in side the cluster as so far that's the few bits I haven't had any problems with. Also is the abs ecu and modulator unit getting all its earths and feeds both battery and ignition. Oh forgot to add if you think your solenoid is faulty fit a test bulb (my self I use a noid light in case of ecu overload) this would prove circuit function, or test for continunity across valves comparing readings with good and bad, going even further place amp meter in circuit to measure current and poss fault in valve or bad wire failing under load hope this helps |

Hi There
No. I cannot get the ABS to TC lights to work. I have checked continuity between the dash plug and the ECU wires and all is OK. I assume that the Dash module id defunct and need to get another (YAZ100000 I think). There is some history here as I bought the Landy new in 2004 and froth start the three amigo's used to light. It went back to the dealer loads of times and they did not fix it......until one day it came back with no lights...but everything seemed to work . It has been like that since with no problems. My only problem now is that when the ABS operates the back right wheel locks. I have ordered an new Nanocom (mine is the old series one) as I cannot read the inputs from the ECU (the Nanocom crashes) so hopefully the new one will work better. I suspect that I need to free up or repair the output solenoid/valve of the rear right wheel. I don't know if this is possible or if I need to get the reconditioned unit from EcuTesting as the link earlier. The ECU has no faults logged. so I think that I'll keep on driving (as the Landy is my daily drive) until the winter weather is gone and then dismantle myself....
