Probably the hole for the Aircon piping. Stick up a picture and we can say for sure.

Yup, aircon pipe hole.
There is a large grommet that will fit in there. I've not got the part # to hand at the moment, but have one in my 110. |

Sounds like the one to me. Will break out the measuring stick and see what size it is. 1999 Defender TD5 110

Where else can you have a ready made, easily accessable from both sides method of passing wires and cb cables to the outside world

This one?
![]() Click image to enlarge As said above, it's for aircon and it seems the people on the production line can't be bothered to put many grommets in the vehicles without aircon  Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated ![]() |

That's the hole. When it stops raining, I will be out to measure the hole and get a bung - unless someone else knows the measurements? 1999 Defender TD5 110

I ended up putting a Vw bung in it that I had hanging around and then sealed and dynamated over the top so I'm not sure of size or part number, sorry.

Looks to me that the aircon was removed at some point from your defender. Smaller hole that is lower down is for the drain pipe.
