Do as BPMan says or disconnect relay I followed BPMan about 18 months ago fitted HID's no issues, better than any normal bulb you'll find, I've just tried the new LED bulbs and again the HID's are better, just remember to adjust the light after as they seem to alter beam pattern.

Mine seems to do dim dip randomly,first noticed it when a sidelight started playing up (o/s,intermittent, poor connection or dodgy bulb) but came on again tonight whilst sidelights were working. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.
