GEllis - Having one of those rear door stays will be one of the best mods out there that you can have for usefulness. Thumbs Up No Guts, No Glory.

Went for a nice drive to get used to the joys of Land Rover ownership Very Happy

Between the 1970s and 1990s I ran numerous vehicles Series 2a, Lightweights, Forward Control, classic RR and a 90TD. But then left the fold in 1993.

It was great to be a Land Rover owner after a gap of 20 years. Mr. Green

A dry day, so ran it through the carwash to get off any traces of road salt, towel dried it, and drove it to my office parking garage, which is well heated and ventilated, and locked it up there with multiple level security in place. Sitting there next to my friend Kitoper's Hunter, and probably won't come out for a week or so, given our beautiful weather forecast for the next week. Rolling Eyes

Moved both of them to the highest part of the drive, both were standing in the small lake that is now our new water feature Shocked

And it is still chucking it down here, road outside of us is a small river now, lucky we live on a small hill, cottages at the bottom of our road are all sandbagged up for the inevitable flooding that is going to happen Crying or Very sad

Frightening stuff Bob, I've just been online to look at images of the flooding in your next of the woods (as a result of your last post). My thoughts are with you mate, and all who are likely to be affected by the floods.

If I was closer I'd launch another mission of mercy!

Post pics if you can, thinking of you. '13 Defender 90

Cheers 9t Thumbs Up

We have four roads out of our village.
Two have just reopened after the Christmas storms. Another has a ford to go through. I went through it yesterday and it was at the maximum that I would go through, very fast flowing, so that will be three closed now. The last road out is the one we live on. That was starting to go at the bottom of the hill about an hour ago. Last time that flooded the police would not let any vehicles through.

Local farmers are out at the moment trying to clear all the drainage ditches but with all the debris about they are fighting a losing battle.

I am sure things will improve overnight ready for the next storm on Friday Shocked

I will get some pictures in the morning.

Cheers guys Thumbs Up

This is the worst I have seen it in the eleven years we have lived here. The problem is the ground can't take any more rain. Our drainage ditches which take the run off from the fields behind us have burst their banks and turned everything into a lake. I am sure if the rain eases overnight the levels will recede but it looks like another big storm is due on Friday. At least we have power - at the moment Laughing
