Water in battery box.
Hi all, doing a bit of routine maintainence on my 90 and I found some water in the battery box, on further inspection I also found a hole or gap halfway up the front right corner. Oblong shape about 50-60 mm long and about 20 mm wide. I can see into the transmission tunnel, is this normal? If so any point trying to seal it? I use the battery box to store some tools so I'd like to keep the water out if possible. If anybody has any ideas I'd be interested in hearing them. Thanks, Johnny.

Some have the gap you describe, some don't.

It won't hurt to seal the box (if you can)

You could also pack the tools in a waterproof bag

The Puma battery does have a gas vent tube that goes out of the battery box completely.
I've found moisture in mine too, I intend to silicone seal both of them but not got around to it yet.

Thanks chaps, all seems good advice. I think I'll try to seal the box (but leave the vent tube). Time to get the sikaflex out Confused
I drove through a flood the other night, tbh, I was showing off as some lesser cars had stopped at the edge of the lake. Being a landy I charged through, soaking them (on the outside anyway) looks like my payback Embarassed Cheers Johnny.
